A CoD meets together for the purpose of becoming better disciplers. And you want to develop into the best Jesus-like discipler that you can be. Journeying together with like-minded individuals will help you to form your identity as a discipler, practice discipling tools in a safe environment, and connect together as you each invest in discipling others.
CoDs are a one year learning environment for becoming better disciplers. If you haven't already, first complete the Equipping Disciplers Intensive to build a foundation in the What, Who, Where, How and Why of Discipling. Following the Intensive and prayerful consideration, we'd love for you to apply to join a CoD.
You'll engage in fortnightly online CoD sessions with your CoD group. However as a discipler it is important to engage with your fellow CoD members between sessions (such as a message of encouragement, or praying for them) and to invest in others who you can disciple.
The CoD is free! To enable you get the best understanding of the discipleship pattern you'll need to purchase a CoD Journal and GenJ Book. The journal is your CoD companion, guiding you through each session, noting key learnings and keeping track of prayer points. The GenJ Book compliments your CoD sessions, designed to be read throughout the week to dive deeper into the main concepts.
All CoD leaders will have completed a CoD as a participant and be familiar with the content and support structure. You will receive access to a complimentary facilitator training guide with session-by-session videos. Alongside your CoD we encourage you to engage regularly with other facilitators to explore each others experiences in successes and challenges. Additional training workshops are also offered by GenJ during the year, exploring key themes and facilitation strategies.
