Our version of life groups: Communities of Disciplers (CoDs)
CoDs are where young adults come together fortnightly to engage in research-based spiritual practices that build disciples and disciplers.
CoDs are not the place for theory, for unpacking last week’s sermon, for Bible studies or for organic hangs.
CoDs are for raw and vulnerable conversations and reflections that lead to becoming more like Jesus in every thought, action, decision and relationship.

For Christians and non-Christians

For young adults, Christian or not, who want to ask questions about Christianity in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Six sessions over a meal.

For Christian young adults who want to develop as disciples and disciplers. Expect three research-based spiritual practices that will transform your life.

For young adults who want to lead a CoD. You can attend a CoD and lead one at the same time.
Session outline
Share. Reflect. Plan. Repeat.
Every CoD session runs in three segments, in this order. What happens in each depends on whether you are in CoD Discover or CoD Develop.
[01]Sharing
- CoD Discover
- Each member shares a story from a stage of their life, so the group learns about each other and finds out if and where faith showed up.
- CoD Develop
- Each member shares what they have been hearing from God in their devotional times.
[02]Reflecting
- CoD Discover
- Questions about Christianity, with nothing off limits. Not to persuade, but to ask questions about the questions, unearth unexamined assumptions and help young adults research their own views.
- CoD Develop
- Reflective Practice: members share a real-life win or challenge to unearth what is at the core of their heart and assumptions, and become more like Jesus, practically.
[03]Planning
- CoD Discover
- Together, the group plans an act of kindness for someone outside it.
- CoD Develop
- Members share their plans for reaching their unchurched friends, then pray for each other and for those they are reaching.

[01]How do I join a CoD?

[02]Are CoDs only for Christians?
No. CoD Discover is for young adults who are still exploring faith. CoD Develop is for Christian young adults, and CoD Disciple is for young adults ready to lead a CoD.
[03]How long am I committing for?
CoD Discover runs for six sessions. CoD Develop meets every fortnight, and we ask for a commitment of 12 months. CoD Disciple meets every month, for as long as the group runs.
[04]Where and when do CoDs meet?
CoDs meet in homes, at a time that suits the group.
[05]Does it cost anything?
Nope. All costs are on us, because this is what we exist for.
[06]What if I have never done anything like this?
Don’t stress. Most people haven’t. Every session follows the same three predictable segments.
