In this session, we will introduce the framework that undergirds the GenJ approach to disciple-making.

This is a pretty simple approach. It has taken me years of engaging with discipleship programs, learning from experienced disciple-makers and a very long educational journey to create all you are about to embark on.

The framework of disciple-making revolves around three main responsibilities: 1) Modelling A Possibility, 2) Teaching A Progressive Pattern and 3) Engaging in Authentic Partnerships.

Sounds very logical, doesn’t it?

It’s nothing new. Paul lived out this pattern and taught it explicitly to his disciple-makers. When you read 1 Timothy 4:12-16, you see the three components vividly. I won’t keep you wondering any further… Let me give you a brief rundown:

1) Modelling A Possibility (1 Timothy 4:12)

2) Teaching A Progressive Pattern (1 Timothy 4:13)

3) Engaging in Authentic Partnerships (1 Timothy 4:15-16).
