The Gathering

5pm SundaysArmadale, Melbourne

Blending ancient and modern practices

The Gathering is our Sunday service, except we go all out to design an experience, not just a service. We are most likely to be transformed when all of our senses are captivated, so we don’t just speak at you, we engage you.

It is also where the ancient meets the contemporary, because we are part of a heritage far richer and deeper than ourselves.

Expect Spirit-filled worship, Bible readings, a sermon and communion. We also read the Creed. Then we eat!

What to expect

  1. [01]

    Extended Worship

If you love worship, you’ll be in your happy place. Our team are worshippers, not just gifted creatives, and it won’t be over in ten minutes: there is always time to soak it up.

  2. [02]

    Scripture Readings

We read the Bible out loud every week. The verses are always on the screen, so no one has to dart to the table of contents to find the passage.

  3. [03]

    Sermon

Our teaching takes the Bible seriously and assumes you can handle it, with no filler and no skipping the parts that demand more of us. We preach a gospel that transforms, not just saves.

  4. [04]

    The Creed

Each week we read the Apostles' Creed together. It is centuries old, and reading it is humbling and grounding: a reminder that this is far bigger than us.

  5. [05]

    Communion

We share communion every week. It’s not an add-on or kept for a monthly slot, it’s front and centre. We use real bread, too.

  6. [06]

    Dinner

Don’t rush home: we always head out and eat somewhere afterwards. This is how church becomes a friendship hub.

Questions

The things people ask before a first Sunday. If yours is not here, ask us and we will answer it properly.

Ask a question
  • [01]Who can attend?

Anyone. We exist for young adults aged 18 to 34, but everyone is welcome.

  • [02]What should I wear?

    You be you!

  • [03]Who is this service best for?

18 to 34 year olds, but no one is checking your ID at the door. If you are older but believe young adults can change our nation, you’re welcome.

  • [04]How long are the services?

About an hour and a half, though sometimes we get carried away and go for almost two hours.

  • [05]What if I don’t know anyone?

Hospitality and inclusion are among our values. No one has ever been left to stand alone.
